Form Builder

Form Builder Overview

A tour of the BizForms builder interface — the canvas, field palette, settings panel, and toolbar.

Open in app

The BizForms builder is where you design and configure your forms. It has four main areas:

Toolbar (top bar)

The toolbar runs across the top of the builder and contains:

  • Form name — click to rename your form inline
  • Preview — opens a live preview of the form in a side panel
  • Settings — form-level configuration (access, notifications, theme)
  • Publish / Unpublish — toggle your form between draft and live
  • Share — opens the share panel with your form's public URL and embed code

Field palette (left panel)

The field palette lists all available field types, organised by category:

  • Text — Short Text, Long Text, Email, Phone, Number, URL
  • Choice — Dropdown, Radio, Checkbox, Rating, Ranking
  • Date & Time — Date, Time, Date Range
  • Media & Files — File Upload, Image Choice
  • Advanced — Signature, Payment, Calculated, Consent, Section Title, Section Break
  • AI — Conversational AI field (Pro+)

Click any field type to add it to the canvas, or drag it to a specific position.

Canvas (centre)

The canvas shows your form fields in order. In the canvas you can:

  • Drag fields to reorder them (grab the handle on the left of each field)
  • Click a field to open its settings in the right panel
  • Duplicate a field using the copy icon
  • Delete a field using the trash icon
  • Drag fields into Section containers for multi-section forms

Fields marked with a red asterisk are required.

Field settings panel (right panel)

Clicking any field in the canvas opens its settings panel on the right. Settings vary by field type but typically include:

  • Label — the question text shown to the respondent
  • Description — optional helper text below the label
  • Placeholder — ghost text inside the input
  • Required — whether the field must be filled in
  • Validation — min/max length, regex patterns, etc.
  • Conditional logic — show or hide this field based on other answers
