Publishing a Form
How to take a form from draft to live, manage its status, and control access.
Open in appDraft vs Published
Every form starts as a Draft — not accessible to the public. When you're ready to start collecting responses, publish it to make it live.
- Draft — only workspace members can preview the form. No responses are accepted.
- Published — the form is live at its public URL and accepting responses.
Publishing a form
Click the Publish button in the top-right of the builder toolbar. The button changes to Published and a green dot appears in your forms list.
You can unpublish at any time by clicking Published → Unpublish. Existing responses are retained; new submissions are blocked until you publish again.
Your form's URL
Once published, every form gets a public URL:
https://bizforms.io/f/your-workspace-slug/your-form-slug
The slug is auto-generated from the form title and can be customised in Form Settings → General → Slug. Slugs must be unique within your workspace.
Custom domain: On Pro and Business plans you can serve forms from your own domain, e.g.
forms.yourcompany.com/form-name. See Custom Domain.
Sharing the link
From the Share panel (toolbar → Share), you can:
- Copy the direct link
- Generate a QR code
- Get the embed code for your website
- Copy a pre-filled link with default field values
Restricting access
Password protection: Set an access password in Form Settings. Respondents see a password prompt before viewing the form.
Close date: Automatically stop accepting responses after a specific date and time. Respondents who visit after the close date see a "This form is closed" message.
Max responses: Close the form automatically once a set number of submissions is reached.
Submissions from draft forms
If you need to test your form without recording real responses, use the Preview mode in the builder. Preview submissions are not saved to the response table.
