Logic & Conditions

AI Logic Builder

Describe conditional logic in plain English and let AI configure the rules for you.

Open in app

The AI Logic Builder lets you describe complex conditional behaviour in plain language instead of manually configuring each rule. It's useful for multi-condition logic, branching flows, and any scenario where the manual rule editor feels tedious.

How to use it

  1. Open the Logic tab in the form builder
  2. Click Describe logic (AI)
  3. Type a description of the behaviour you want
  4. Click Apply

The AI will generate the appropriate conditional rules across your form fields. You can review each rule before confirming, and edit any that need adjustment.

Examples

Simple show/hide:

"Only show the 'Company name' field if the respondent selects 'Business' for account type."

Multi-condition:

"Show the 'Escalation reason' field only if priority is 'High' or 'Critical' AND the category is 'Customer complaint'."

Section routing:

"Skip Section 3 entirely if the answer to 'Do you have dependants?' is 'No'. Otherwise show Section 3."

Multiple rules at once:

"Hide all fields in the 'Medical history' section unless 'Healthcare professional' is selected as the respondent's role. Also show the 'Licence number' field only when role is 'Healthcare professional'."

Reviewing AI-generated rules

After you click Apply, the AI shows a summary of the rules it created. Each rule is shown in plain English alongside its technical configuration. You can:

  • Accept individual rules
  • Edit a rule before accepting (opens the manual rule editor)
  • Delete rules you don't want
  • Accept all to apply the whole set at once

Limitations

  • The AI Logic Builder works with fields that already exist in your form. Create your fields first, then describe the logic.
  • The AI cannot create new fields — only configure conditions on existing ones.
  • Very complex multi-branch decision trees may need manual refinement after AI generation.

Plan requirements

The AI Logic Builder is available on Pro and Business plans.
